The summer is here and the blockbuster movies are going to start rolling out. I have never been a big Indiana Jones movie but the hype got me going and interested in watching the latest movie. The Kingdom Of The Krystal Skull is a typical American action movie. The movie moves on quickly from places to places keeping you entertained and into the movie. But the ridiculous stunts and impossible actions made me a bit disappointed. The whole movie still has that air of old and classic but some ideas did not run very well. I believe the whole movie was over hyped and it’s not a great movie. But this is just my opinion and I have never been an Indiana Jones fan. The movie is still good but not great. It could wait to be seen, no need to rush to watch it.

I know it has been a long while since I post anything and specially comments about a movie but I think this one deserves the attention. Iron Man is officially one of the coolest movies of this year. The year is just starting and a lot of movies are looking good but this one is great so far. The action is great, it actually has a great story to it and they threw in some parts of humor in it so it doesn’t get boring at times. Casting did a great job, everyone did a great role and no extremely bad acting. I would totally recommend this movie for anyone, from girls to guys and all ages. Stay around at the end after the credits because there will be an extra small clip which might be a hint to the next release. I personally didn’t get much of the clip but its something related to the comic book.

It had been a long time since I’ve gone to the movie theater but yesterday I decided to go with a couple of friends to see I Am Legend. The story is very similar to 28 weeks later. The population has been infected with a virus and there seems to be only one person alive which is Will Smith. The story itself it’s a bit played out but this brings a bit of a difference to the infected people. I personally think this movie would of done bad in the box office but thanks to Will Smith it is selling and it will continue to sell. It’s not a bad movie but it’s not as great as the trailers looked.
I finished the course on Film Arts and according to my teacher now I have more knowledge than most critics which I actually agree on. My second film analysis is on Raging Bull and I got a solid A on it. I could of done better but some simple spelling and sentence structuring problems didn’t allow me to get the full credit for it. Because I love movies and always like to know more about them; I’m taking Film Arts where I’ve learned a lot more of how films are done. And I’ve written my first film analysis on Do The Right Thing by Spike Lee. The analysis is based on the colors used in this movie and the meaning behind these colors. I got a 88/100 which I think it’s a pretty good score. One of the reasons I didn’t get a higher grade is because I didn’t make it long enough. I went to see a Sci-Fi movie called Sunshine which has great reviews. For some reason I don’t agree with most people on this one. I think it was very cliche and a bit slow. It wasn’t very descriptive about some things that I believe they could of expanded on. It had a bit of a horror in it which was pretty interesting for a while. The effects about the spaceship and the rest of the things was ok. For some reason this movie didn’t click with me. If you are a big Sci-Fi person then you might like this. I didn’t, I’ll give it a D+ because it is a cliche and doesn’t bring anything new.

Jason Bourne is back and still powerful. The Bourne Ultimatum is without a doubt one of the best summer blockbusters, the one most people were looking forward too (after Potter). This movie delivers, the action is great, everything is realistic, no fake impossible things. The story is great, very good ending. Rumors are that Matt Damon doesn’t want to do a 4th one, but maybe he will change his mind after he sees how good it does in the box office. Almost everywhere you go this movie will be Sold Out, that means is that good. Go watch it, you won’t regret it, it is great.

Today I tried to go see The Bourne Ultimatum but as I expected it was all sold out. So I decided to watch Transformers instead. I must say this movie has some crazy special effects. After a while I forgot that these were robots that were probably CGI and blue/green screens. But everything blended so well that for a time you just forget about it. Now, transformers isn’t from “my time” but I had a pretty good idea of what it was, not much of the story. So I don’t know if it lives up to the originals but it was pretty good. For the people that said that this movie was bad because it had no story, that is not true. It has a simple story ROBOTS, what else did they expect ? Great visual effects, two thumbs up to Michael Bay for directing this movie.

I went to see The Simpsons Movie with expectations and it delivered. Since the very beginning of the movie it is funny. That was probably the best of the movie that it didn’t build up to something it just started in funny. It’s like one long episode but at the same time it’s special because they look a lot better and bigger. They tried to put every famous character in the movie and some get more time than others “on camera”. If you are a Simpsons fan, if you aren’t but have seen a couple of episodes one in a blue, go see it because it is funny as it has always been. I recommend it.
Here is a bit extra on how to get free drinks and popcorns. This is only for the poor and lazy and willing to do it. When you go to an AMC movie theater and buy a large drink and/or large popcorn, you get a free refill. Most people don’t get that free refill so they throw out the cup and popcorn bag. If you go to a trash can or through the seats and see a large cup or large popcorn bag you can go and get a new drink or popcorn free. You might think it’s “yucky” but they give you a new cup and new popcorn bag, not the old one. But remember only one refill per bag/drink because the refill cup or bag has it labeled that it is a free refill.

I love Adam Sandler’s films, they’re always funny and great movies (except for Click). Today I saw Chuck and Larry, I thought for a while that the funny parts were going to be the things that I saw in the trailer but I was incredibly wrong. Since the beginning of the movie you are laughing. Kevin James is finally getting more recognized as a comedian besides Kings of Queens — Hitch wasn’t a star in that one — he did a great job in this movie, extremely funny as usual. The whole movie brings out the sensitive issue about Gay people in America. This movie is just Adam Sandler at one of his best, he didn’t even have to do the weird voices for his jokes. They make the movie funny but with the message that Gay people are regular people and deserve their rights. Go watch it, you will laugh like a kid. Did I forget to mention that Jessica Biel is extremely hot and is in underwear during the movie ?! If that doesn’t make you want to watch this movie then I don’t know what will.
