The summer is here and the blockbuster movies are going to start rolling out. I have never been a big Indiana Jones movie but the hype got me going and interested in watching the latest movie. The Kingdom Of The Krystal Skull is a typical American action movie. The movie moves on quickly from places to places keeping you entertained and into the movie. But the ridiculous stunts and impossible actions made me a bit disappointed. The whole movie still has that air of old and classic but some ideas did not run very well. I believe the whole movie was over hyped and it’s not a great movie. But this is just my opinion and I have never been an Indiana Jones fan. The movie is still good but not great. It could wait to be seen, no need to rush to watch it.

I know it has been a long while since I post anything and specially comments about a movie but I think this one deserves the attention. Iron Man is officially one of the coolest movies of this year. The year is just starting and a lot of movies are looking good but this one is great so far. The action is great, it actually has a great story to it and they threw in some parts of humor in it so it doesn’t get boring at times. Casting did a great job, everyone did a great role and no extremely bad acting. I would totally recommend this movie for anyone, from girls to guys and all ages. Stay around at the end after the credits because there will be an extra small clip which might be a hint to the next release. I personally didn’t get much of the clip but its something related to the comic book.

Update: Reuters.com is reporting that the major record labels have said that this information is false. They have not signed a contract with Qtrax but they were working together on beta testing. So now we would have to wait and see if any of the major record labels would actually sign the contract which we doubt. Why doesn’t each major record label run there own website/p2p and make their own profit ?
The new buzz
of the internet for today is a company named Qtrax which is going to offer free and legal music to download. It is going to work with p2p in a way that you don’t have to download any program, it runs of your browser. The great news about this is that all major record labels have signed an agreement so it is legal to download it from the website. It also offers more songs than iTunes and Amazon which is a great way to compete. Of course to every great story comes bad news. So far it is DRM wrapped, you need a specific player to listen to the music and even worse for most, it doesn’t work with your ipod. They say that they are working on it but until then I don’t see myself using this service. Mac users are also screwed because it only works for Windows at the moment but it is expected to be Mac compatible in March. I hope everything works out the way they plan it and that it will be free and legal, if it does these will be a great success.

One of the biggest t.v. programs of the year is going to air on February 3rd. It is no lie that the Super Bowl is one of the most watch t.v. shows of the year, even people that don’t watch football love watching the Super Bowl. One of the greatest part of this event is there exciting new, funny, expensive commercials that air during breaks. This year the show is going to be transmitted by Fox News which is charging an all time record high of $2.7 million dollars for a 30-second commercial. Ticket sales to attend the Super Bowl will add up approximately $57.6 million this year. You can see the Super Bowl economy is a strong one and everyone seems to want a piece of that pie. Business owners try to make the best out of their places to try and get people to go to their event/party. This means they have deals on drinks, maybe free t-shirts or something else. It is also known as the # 1 day to buy snack foods so it is also a competition for the chips companies to offer the best deals or the most attracting bags. The Super Bowl Economy is without a doubt a great business day for many.
Finally a new show that I could look forward to watching. The Sarah Connor Chronicles started yesterday (Jan. 13th) and it was a great first show. It reminds me of the first time I saw Terminator I and Terminator II. They even used some famous quotes from the movie like “come with me if you want to live”. They also used the same house where they killed the guy who “created” the war of robots. Just from one episode I could say that it is going to be a great show this season and I recommend it to anyone who likes good shows, specially if you were a fan of Terminator. The whole series is based on what happened after Terminator II, the kid is a bit older and new adventures await. Don’t miss it.

I had talked about this awaited album called The Cool by one of my new favorite artist’s Lupe Fiasco. He just keeps delivering all the time, with his nice beats and his smooth lyrics. It had been a long time since I’ve gone to the movie theater but yesterday I decided to go with a couple of friends to see I Am Legend. The story is very similar to 28 weeks later. The population has been infected with a virus and there seems to be only one person alive which is Will Smith. The story itself it’s a bit played out but this brings a bit of a difference to the infected people. I personally think this movie would of done bad in the box office but thanks to Will Smith it is selling and it will continue to sell. It’s not a bad movie but it’s not as great as the trailers looked.
It’s been a long time since I talk about music so might as well do it now than never. What I’ve been hearing the most lately is Kanye West latest album, Graduation. It is without a doubt one of the best album of the years. Every song is good, every beat is good. There are a few songs that could of been better but they are still good. The only album that I’m looking forward to this year and I hope is just as good or better is Lupe Fiasco’s, The Cool. For now everything else is just a come and go, nothing that could stick for years.

I finished the course on Film Arts and according to my teacher now I have more knowledge than most critics which I actually agree on. My second film analysis is on Raging Bull and I got a solid A on it. I could of done better but some simple spelling and sentence structuring problems didn’t allow me to get the full credit for it. Because I love movies and always like to know more about them; I’m taking Film Arts where I’ve learned a lot more of how films are done. And I’ve written my first film analysis on Do The Right Thing by Spike Lee. The analysis is based on the colors used in this movie and the meaning behind these colors. I got a 88/100 which I think it’s a pretty good score. One of the reasons I didn’t get a higher grade is because I didn’t make it long enough.
