Windows 7: Beta 1 Leaked

December 29, 2008 · Filed Under Microsoft, Tech · Comment

The “first beta” of Windows 7 has been leaked out and available for download at certain bittorrent sites. The beta that has been leaked out was meant to be shown in January for a special show. Some people are saying that it is pretty good, they have put a lot of effort into developing this operating system. As far as the looks of it you can see some pictures that LifeHacker.com has. I’m not planning on downloading it but it is good to know that so far it is looking good. Here is one of the pictures from LifeHacker:

What Happened In 2008 ?

December 29, 2008 · Filed Under Ideas & Thoughts · Comment

Here is a quick list of things that happened in 2008 that I blogged about. Of course there is plenty of other important things that I didn’t get the chance to talk about.

January:
Google Adsense Killers: I have yet to see them kill anything.
The Start of OpenID: The great OpenID project goes full gear.

March:
My BlackBerry Pearl: How would I ever live without this great phone. I am now an official crackberry user.
Netflix Movies On Demand: Downloading movies straight to your tv is going to be a great future.

June:
The FireFox 3 Buzz: I still love this browser but Chrome is doing pretty good also.

July:
Cuil Search Engine: Big rumors about a Google Killer but at the end it has yet to prove anything.

August:
Magazines Online Free: It was a great inatiave and a great idea but it didn’t seem to work. Maybe it will work better in a future.

September:
Google Chrome: Google unveils their own web browser that seems to have a good future so far. I use it every now and then.

October:
It was a slow month for me but I turned 21.

November:
First Black President ever elected in the history of the United States, Barack Obama. For sure the biggest thing of the year in my eyes.

December:
Nothing yet…

I will keep updating this list as times goes by and I remember things. Feel free to add any suggestions.
Also check out Wireds Top Technology Breakthrough of 2008. My favorite of that list is the flexible display which is something I believe we will be seeing a lot in the future.

Finding A Good Domain Name.

December 24, 2008 · Filed Under Tech · Comment

It took me almost 3 weeks to think about a good domain name for my website but I finally got it. I wanted something that you could add a subdomain and still sound good. But coming up with a domain name isn’t easy and even worse yet the best names are probably taken and you can’t afford to buy them from the people who own them. FriedBeef created a pretty good article of differrent ways of coming up with a domain name. You must always remember that sometimes weird names work, if you don’t believe me then ask Google. Web 2.0 usually have the oddest most creative name and they suggest a website called Bustaname for people looking into that trend. Good luck finding your domain name.

What Did People Google In 2008?

December 16, 2008 · Filed Under Google, Tech · Comment

As the year comes to end it is time to slowly start rolling out those list of “what happened in 2008″ and those sort of things. So to start the list we shall look at what were people interested in finding this year. Google Zeitgeist has the list by global searches and by certain countries. It also gives us a list of things that rose fast during this year. Obviously it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that what was probably most searched was Obama and Sarah Pahlin. In other news, hybrid cars had a huge peak when gas prices were hitting top prices but as soon as prices started settling they went back down. For a second there people actually started thinking about how to save energy but now everyone is back to not caring.

Later in December I will post a list of important events and things I blogged about.
