It had been a long time since I have been curious with how certain technology works. Tonight I discovered simple tricks of how to send text messages from websites and how to send emails through text messaging. It all works with SMS Gateways, which are paths or “doors” that enable the transferring of text messages. Through these we can send E-mails to certain addresses and that would forward it to as a text message to the appropriate phone number. With this known, it is very easy to set up a web form that would enable you to send information to users through their phone numbers through emails.
In the same way it is possible to send a text message to certain numbers and that would forward it to an email address. In case you don’t have email on your phone (like me with my blackberry) you could just text that phone number and add the details and all the sudden you could send emails from your phone. It is simple and useful if you use it right. check the list provided in Wikipedia and Google for other SMS Gateways in case those don’t work for you or you are looking for a more specific less known cell phone carrier.

I was just reading an article about Netflix’s new box where you could watch movies on demand. In the same way Apple TV and other products work; you could download movies and videos to watch on your television. The obvious difference is that Netflix is known for their wide range of movies and TV Series available. But because of the broadcasting rules and what not, Netflix only has 10% of the movies available through the box. Hopefully this is something that could change in the future.
The box itself only costs $100 dollars and it is available to regular users that pay the monthly fee to order movies by mail. It is said that it is easy to install and use. You only need a broadband wired or wireless connection to use it. The quality of the movies isn’t great and no where near High Definition. But in a few years if broadband grows and Netflix could work out something with the studios then this might be the greatest product of all times. People want things on demand. This would be revolutionary, the fact that you could pick between 100,000 movies (old and new) and have it in your Television at the time you desire is great. With this I could picture them selling them to users in a way where it would store the movie to system in a better quality. I see great improvement to this.

It’s another year gone by down the road. I recently finished my second year at R.I.T. and a great one it was. I took some great classes that not only applied to my major but also applied to my knowledge in general about society and life. One of my favorites was International Relations where I learned so much about how the international “government” roles work and how the United Nations is viewed and works. Because of this class I later on took a class called War And The State talking about the “Art of War” and the different meanings and views people take upon war.
As far as classes applied to my major, my favorite was Software Engineering. It was one of the classes that I was leased expecting to like but it was opposite of what I expected. The whole class went through the process of working in a team developing, from start to finish, a whole project. During the process we mostly learned about designing and working on your design to make your software flexible for any new features or changes that need to be added. It gave me a good view of how a project in the “real world” would work out.
Living off campus was a whole new experience that I do not regret. I saved lots of money and live a lot more comfortable. The fact that I could leave campus and forget about school for hours or days, kept me more relaxed. I am planning to live off campus next year too but at a different place. Housing on campus is still bad and expensive. It is an option but not my first by choice. I am actually pretty excite to see what next year will bring.
Two years already,

The summer is here and the blockbuster movies are going to start rolling out. I have never been a big Indiana Jones movie but the hype got me going and interested in watching the latest movie. The Kingdom Of The Krystal Skull is a typical American action movie. The movie moves on quickly from places to places keeping you entertained and into the movie. But the ridiculous stunts and impossible actions made me a bit disappointed. The whole movie still has that air of old and classic but some ideas did not run very well. I believe the whole movie was over hyped and it’s not a great movie. But this is just my opinion and I have never been an Indiana Jones fan. The movie is still good but not great. It could wait to be seen, no need to rush to watch it.

As I’m doing my research for a term paper I have to do, I found this article called Sometimes in War, You Can Put A Price In A Life. The article talks about different ways and situations where prices are given to human life. If you would ask anyone rational the price of life they would say that it’s priceless. Apparently some people have thought of “great” ideas of giving price to life. In a certain case they considered $2,000 a reasonable price for Afghanistan’s life. This is a ridiculous low amount for a life, at least in my opinion. This price was given to people who got shot during the war but were innocent people. In the same scenario 50 other people got injured but received no money. It is true that war brings out the worse in people. Even people who die in airplane crashes get more money than this and those are really bad accidents. War is less than an accident. But this is just my opinion.

I know it has been a long while since I post anything and specially comments about a movie but I think this one deserves the attention. Iron Man is officially one of the coolest movies of this year. The year is just starting and a lot of movies are looking good but this one is great so far. The action is great, it actually has a great story to it and they threw in some parts of humor in it so it doesn’t get boring at times. Casting did a great job, everyone did a great role and no extremely bad acting. I would totally recommend this movie for anyone, from girls to guys and all ages. Stay around at the end after the credits because there will be an extra small clip which might be a hint to the next release. I personally didn’t get much of the clip but its something related to the comic book.
