Who Modified Wikipedia, Was It The C.I.A. ?

August 17, 2007 · Filed Under Tech

That is the news for today people. A new tool called WikiScanner lets us track down editing of pages on Wikipedia. You can’t track down every editing because some IP’s are public and probably some bored user at home. But if you did it from a computer with a personal owned IP address then we will know. BBC News reports that the CIA was among the companies that changed some information in Wiki. Some information about Iran’s president (why would they do that?). So far thats the only one they announced but I am pretty sure there are plenty more to come. Other informations have been changed by the Democratic Party, Oprah, The Vatican and many others. Thanks to new media and public access we can find out how these corporations still try to have control over everything.
