College Financial Tips.
If you are a student studying on loans and grants and scholarships then here are a few tips to balance out your money. You don’t have to be a great student to get good grades, the better grades you get the more free money you will get. Most scholarships require at least a 3.0 gpa which is not that hard to get to, just keep away from D’s and try not getting too many C’s. Go to your financial department in your school and ask them for places to get scholarships; look at bulletins and notes posted on walls they usually announce new scholarships or how to get money. If you need extra money to do things and hang out, get a job. As a student you are guaranteed to get a job on campus, unless your campus is small. If you are a minority you have even greater chances of getting grants and scholarships, weird but minorities do get more money.
Get a bank account, checking and savings. Look for a bank that you trust and is near your campus so you don’t have to go too far to get or put money without charge. After you have your a good budget and think you can handle money well, then it is time to get a Credit Card. Only get one, you probably don’t need more than one credit card. This is only to build up credit which will be very important in the near future. If you see that you keep maxing out your credit card then try paying it and canceling it because you are not doing good managing your money. If you keep maxing out and your payments keep getting delayed and get overcharged, your credit will go down.
These are basic College Financial Tips I can give you. They are very simple but most people fail at the credit card part, they forget they have to pay all of it in a certain time and they don’t seem to have the money they spend. So spend wisely, if you can’t pay for it in the future then don’t buy it. Not everything is a necessary. Don’t be afraid of being “cheap” about spending your money. You rather be cheap and have money for emergencies or be broke and be in debt with banks from which you might need loans from in the future.
