Statistics and analysts show that by the end of the year 2008 there will be One Billion PC’s in use. It took a very long time to reach this number. We have to remember that when computers started appearing they were extremely expensive. Today, more people are able to afford a personal computer. Because of this we need IPv6 to start kicking in a bit quicker. This also means that internet runs a bit slower because so many people are downloading and uploading every day. Bandwidth must also grow, the U.S. should follow Japan that has a great bandwidth conection. It might have taken all these years to reach 1 billion pc’s, but it will only take another 5 years to reach the next billion.

The main reason the pc world is growing so quick is because of cheap computers. Now that computer are getting cheaper and company’s trying to build laptop’s under US$300, this means that other countries that couldn’t afford it before now could start getting into the market and into the new world. Computers are no longer considered a luxury, it is considered a need.
