+44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating

I must have been one of the last person to find out that Mark and Travis from Blink182 had started there own band with new member. This was not really a surprise since everyone knew that Blink182 was coming to an end soon. It is still sad that there will probably never be another Blink182 album with those great drum beats by Travis, the crazy singing by Tom and the funky bass of Mark. Every blink fan knows that they are the perfect combination and everytime we listen to them and theres at least one missing (ex. Box Car Racer) it is just not right. But all good things come to and end and it was blink’s time to end.

This new band called +44 by Travis and Mark it is pretty good. If you liked Travis and Tom’s Box Car Racer then you will probably like +44. Travis is still bringing the good drum beats and Mark still has that familiar voice. And I hate to keep comparing to blink182 but, Mark did not bring the “funky” fun song and his silly singing. Lets face it, they have grown up, they’re not singing about School and College, it is on a more “mature” level. Which, to say the truth, it saddens me because they have forgoten about having fun and playing dumb. This album (When Your Heart Stops Beating) reminds me a lot of the last Blink182 album where it was a lot of melodys, but mixed in with some nice pop punk that we are more familiar with. I give it a 3 and half, mainly because it is not as punk as I would like it to be. But it is a good album and you will really like it if you loved blinks last CD.
