Paper based storage.
A new technology called Rainbow Versatile Disc (RVD) promises a new way of storing information, with paper. This new invetion besides being eco-friendly it is ment to be very cheap since it could use recycled paper to create more of this paper based storage. This new “rainbow technology” uses geometric shapes and in certain patterns. To read this patterns and shapes, it uses a scanner; which I would guess would be the expensive part of this technology.
Sainul Abideen, 24, who has just completed an MCA degree in Kerala is the creator of this new technology. The space of these “disc” is ment to be 4 inches of paper and it could store many pages into it. The only problem with this new technology is the fact that paper is degradable, thus, it probably could not last as much as a normal disc. But new tech is always welcomed and specially if it is ment to be a cheaper solution to storing information.
