I just finished reading this interesting article in SecurityFocus by Scott Granneman called A Hard Lesson in Privacy . It is a true story about someone who bought a used Intel Mac. Basically is the same old story about people who think they deleted files by placing in the recycle bin and then emptying that recycle bin. Now for the “average” user they think that after you do that there is no way of recovering that information; well you are wrong. The only way you are able to delete files “forever” is with software that your Operating System does not bring (according to the article Mac securely deletes files). Considering that most user use Windows, it is a different story you will need special software that deletes your files and overwrites them so they can’t be recovered.
I will give you a quick lesson on how this works, it will probably not even make much sense but it is worth trying. There is one big column with rows, these rows are “numbers” that indicate where your file is located, consider it like a street address. Next to that address (in the next column) is the information that it brings (the files information). There is another column with information about the adresses and saying if someone lives there (if it has something) or if it is empty. When you delete a file, it doesn’t really delete the information of the file, it just says in that other column that nothing is there (even though there really is, but it will be overwritten). I must have been one of the last person to find out that Mark and Travis from Blink182 had started there own band with new member. This was not really a surprise since everyone knew that Blink182 was coming to an end soon. It is still sad that there will probably never be another Blink182 album with those great drum beats by Travis, the crazy singing by Tom and the funky bass of Mark. Every blink fan knows that they are the perfect combination and everytime we listen to them and theres at least one missing (ex. Box Car Racer) it is just not right. But all good things come to and end and it was blink’s time to end.
This new band called +44 by Travis and Mark it is pretty good. If you liked Travis and Tom’s Box Car Racer then you will probably like +44. Travis is still bringing the good drum beats and Mark still has that familiar voice. And I hate to keep comparing to blink182 but, Mark did not bring the “funky” fun song and his silly singing. Lets face it, they have grown up, they’re not singing about School and College, it is on a more “mature” level. Which, to say the truth, it saddens me because they have forgoten about having fun and playing dumb. This album (When Your Heart Stops Beating) reminds me a lot of the last Blink182 album where it was a lot of melodys, but mixed in with some nice pop punk that we are more familiar with. I give it a 3 and half, mainly because it is not as punk as I would like it to be. But it is a good album and you will really like it if you loved blinks last CD.
Long Live Blink182,

A new technology called Rainbow Versatile Disc (RVD) promises a new way of storing information, with paper. This new invetion besides being eco-friendly it is ment to be very cheap since it could use recycled paper to create more of this paper based storage. This new “rainbow technology” uses geometric shapes and in certain patterns. To read this patterns and shapes, it uses a scanner; which I would guess would be the expensive part of this technology.
Sainul Abideen, 24, who has just completed an MCA degree in Kerala is the creator of this new technology. The space of these “disc” is ment to be 4 inches of paper and it could store many pages into it. The only problem with this new technology is the fact that paper is degradable, thus, it probably could not last as much as a normal disc. But new tech is always welcomed and specially if it is ment to be a cheaper solution to storing information.
I just came back from the movies and saw the movie Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington. The movie is based on mystery of the phenomenon we call Déjà vu. For everyone out there who does not know what this means, it is when we see something and it seems very familiar (flashbacks), like if it already has happened. The story of the movie is that the government has developed a machine and way of seeing things before they happened and this way they could solve crimes or any other problems.
This is one great movie, it is worth the money, go watch it. Denzel never fails to make a good movie and this is another great Denzel action cop/detective movie. The movie is 2 hours and a half but it is worth every minute and has a good ending. Story and scripting was also well planned. I give it 4 and a half stars. Do not download it, see it !

Welcome everyone to my new blog. I recently installed it and through time I will be posting about movies, technology, music and any other thing that comes to my mind. I like to pretend to be a movie critic even though I do not know that much about films to be a pro-critic. But sometimes is better to find out about movies through “real people” rather than those damn critics who do not apreciate simple funny movies. I forgot to introduce myself…. My name is Yasser Hernandez. I am a Computer Science student (freshmen) at Rochester Institute of Technology. Thus, I will be talking a lot about technology and general security and programming. I will try to make a small section for programs I have done and I will include there source codes (open source is a good way to go).
That should be it for now, leave comments, ideas, suggestions and any other things.
